When co-founders Doug Messer and Brendan Weinstein tried to recruit and manage student ambassadors for his own company, DBFLY watches, they failed. University Beyond hadn’t yet been invented. Doug, Brendan, their high school classmate Mike Spitalieri and Mike’s college roommate Rich Anand decided to solve this problem of recruiting and managing ambassadors. The four left college and started University Beyond. But, they needed a couple new members to complete their team. Frank Carey and Bryan Simmons business experience fit the mold.

Frank Carey, who went to high school with Doug and Mike, uses his Marketing degree from the University of Miami to lead UB’s business development. Frank focuses on fundraising, making new UB partners and maintaining those professional relationships. Bryan Simmons, a college roommate of Mike and Rich was the final piece to the UB puzzle. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh and holding a job with Yelp, he was unhappy. Bryan wanted to enjoy work. That need was met with UB. Bryan saw the early success and potential of UB and bought a one-way ticket to New York. He quickly meshed with the team and became Head of Sales.

Together, Doug, Brendan, Mike, Rich, Frank and Bryan are business partners, friends and your UB team.
